Wendy Betts opened Q Hair Design in 1981.

As a young hairstylist Wendy made the pilgrimage to New York City to study at the Bumble & Bumble salon, which was located in an old repurposed warehouse, and fell in love with the aesthetic. She told herself that one day she too would have a beautiful, elegant salon, with exposed roof beams and a hint of industrial flair. Years later her dream came true, when she found the warehouse that now houses Q Hair Design up for sale. She made the difficult decision to sell her home and downsize, in order to buy the warehouse and bring a little bit of the New York City style to the west end of Edmonton.

Wendy has created an incomparable atmosphere at Q Hair and has put together one of the hardest working teams of service providers and customer service professionals in Edmonton.

She has made it her mission to make sure every single Q Hair client leaves knowing how valuable they are to her, and has woven her passion for hair into the very fabric of her business.

Q Hair’s location has changed a few times over the years before finally settling down at it’s third and final location; a gorgeous New-York-inspired warehouse on 168th street and Stony Plain Road in the west end.
